Costs

The Kugatsu Karate-do is a non-profit making karate club, all the proceeds being put back into the club for the benefit of our students.  All of our instructors, coaches and helpers give up their time freely, no one takes a wage from leading the various activities of the club.

As a result, we are able to keep the training costs at what we, at least, consider to be a very reasonable level.  Our aim being to ensure that our members train because they enjoy it, they don't train in order that the instructors can earn a living.  Similarly, we hope that all our members, and their parents or carers, feel that training at the Kugatsu Karate-Do is not only very competitively priced, but also good value for money.

So what are the costs involved?

The class fees vary depending on the venue, the details are outlined below.

Kelvindale (The Scout Hall)

The following fees apply to ALL classes at Kelvindale; £2.50 for junior members (5 - 15 years) and £3.00 for senior members (16 years and over).

Class fees are payable immediately prior to your class starting.

Scotstoun Leisure Centre

Unlike Kelvindale, the class fees at Scotstoun are payable directly to the leisure centre, not to the club.  The following fees apply to ALL classes in Scotstoun Leisure Centre;

 ~    £1.70 for under 18's (£1.55 on the production of Glasgow Kidz  Card or a Young Scot Card), and
~    £3.35 for 18 year olds and over (30p will be refunded by the Kugatsu Karate-Do on the production of the Leisure Centre receipt).

Other Costs

All members of the Kugatsu Karate-Do are required to apply for a karate licence on an annual basis.  New members must apply for their licence within four weeks of joining the club.  Licence fees are set by our parent association, i.e. The British All Styles Karate Association.  Taking out a licence provides our members with;

-    Membership of Baska Karate, the Scottish arm of B.A.S.K.A.
-    Membership of the Scottish Karate Governing Body.

The current annual licence fees are £13.oo (new application) and £10.00 (renewal), the fees are applicable to ALL students.
