Costs

The Kugatsu Karate-do is a non-profit making karate club, the proceeds being put back into the club for the benefit of our students.  All of our instructors, coaches and helpers give up their time freely, no one takes a wage from leading the various activities of the club.

As a result, we are able to keep the training costs at what we, at least, consider to be a very reasonable level.  Our aim being to ensure that our members train because they enjoy it, they don't train in order that the instructors can earn a living.  Similarly, we hope that all our members, and their parents or carers, feel that training at the Kugatsu Karate-Do is not only very competitively priced, but also good value for money.

Other Costs

All members of the Kugatsu Karate-Do are required to apply for a karate licence on an annual basis.  New members must apply for their licence within four weeks of joining the club.  Licence fees are set by our parent association, i.e. the Karate Kai Scotland.  Taking out a licence provides our members with;

-    Membership of the Karate Kai Scotland
-    Membership of the Scottish Karate Governing Body.

The current annual licence fees are £15.00 (new application) and £12.00 (renewal), the fees are applicable to ALL students. All licences expire at the end of February each year; as a result the Karate Kai Scotland operate a sliding fee scale for new applications based on when in the year students apply for their licence.
